Pokemon Fire Red and Leaf Green are remakes of the original Red and Blue (Green in Japan).
Some Confirmed Features:
Compatible with Ruby and Sapphire - The official way to get the old Pokemon.
Improved Graphics - The Graphics are now 32-bit, in color, and are on the same level as R/S

Help Mode - A new help mode for the beginner to Pokemon. Pressing the "L" button will summon your older brother.
Mobile Adapter - The mobile adapter will let you talk and battle with your friends..Unknown if it will be in the English version yet. With the Mobile Adapter you can play the mini games with up to five friends!
Female Trainer - Just like Crystal and R/S, the female trainer will return...but with a different look.
AreaDex - In your Pokedex, you can see what is in the area you walk in
Also, when you enter a certain place, such as Mount Moon, there will be a 2 second picture of what the place looks like.
There are additional islands called The Rainbow Islands.
All Pokemon from R/B and G/S are obtainable in the game.
Deoxys is also in the game. It is on one of the Rainbow Islands
