When there, you can play Card Flip or Slots, but you'll need coins. Coins run $1000 for 50 and $10000 for $500. The Slots are a traditional slot machine. If you get a 7, and the next wheel isn't a 7, sometimes it'll become a 7, and if the third wheel isn't 7, Golems will start falling! You can bet 1 coin (Centerline wins), 2 coins (All lines win), or 3 coins (Diagonals also will win). If you match 3 items, you'll win prizes as listed below: 3 Cherries - 6 Coins 3 Pikachu - 8 Coins 3 Squirtle - 10 Coins 3 Staryu - 15 Coins 3 Poke Balls - 50 Coins 3 7s - 300 Coins The other game is Card Flip, a variation of Roulette. Pay 3 coins, and you earn 12 bets that a card will come up a certain way. The odds of winning and prizes are: 2-1- Two columns - 6 Coins 3-1- Two rows - 9 Coins 4-1- A column - 12 Coins 6-1- A row - 18 Coins 24-1- A single card - 72 Coins However, these odds only apply to the first draw, as the cards that are drawn do not get replaced. These odds could possibly be cut in half if you go 12 rounds before winning. If you win, the payoff will depend on your bet. If you win or buy enough coins, you can trade them in for really great prizes. They are different in each Corner. Move Tutor Move TutorOne of the things that makes Pokemon Crystal different and better from Gold/Silver is that once you defeat the Elite Four and Lance, a man will appear outside the Goldenrod Game Corner on Saturdays and Wednesdays, but there is something special about him. This man is the move tutor and for 4000 game coins, he will teach one of your Pokemon either, Ice Beam, Thunderbolt, or Flamethrower. The only drawback is that he only teaches your Pokemon one move a day, so choose wisely! They probably decided to add the move tutor because the supermoves like Thunder may be powerful, but they miss a lot. Below is a table that helps you by listing all the moves your Pokemon can learn. Pokemon Move(s) Charmander/Charmeleon/Charizard Flamethrower Squirtle/Wartortle/Blastoise Ice Beam Rattata/Raticate Thunderbolt (Raticate only), Ice Beam (Raticate only) Nidoran(f)/Nidorina/Nidoqueen Thunderbolt, Ice Beam (Nidorina only), Flamethrower (Nidoqueen only) Nidoran(m)/Nidorino/Nidoking Thunderbolt, Ice Beam (Nidorino only), Flamethrower (Nidoking only) Vulpix/Ninetales Flamethrower Meowth/Persian Thunderbolt Psyduck/Golduck Ice Beam Mankey/Primeape Thunderbolt Growlithe/Arcanine Flamethrower Poliwag/Poliwhirl/Poliwrath/Politoed Ice Beam Machop/Machoke/Machamp Flamethrower Tentacool/Tentacruel Ice Beam Geodude/Graveler/Golem Flamethrower Ponyta/Rapidash Flamethrower Slowpoke/Slowbro/Slowking Flamethrower, Ice Beam Magnemite/Magneton Thunderbolt Seel/Dewgong Ice Beam Grimer/Muk Flamethrower, Thunderbolt Shellder/Cloyster Ice Beam Gastly/Haunter/Gengar Thunderbolt Krabby/Kingler Ice Beam Voltorb/Electrode Thunderbolt Cubone/Marowak Flamethrower, Ice Beam Lickitung Flamethrower, Thunderbolt, Ice Beam Koffing/Weezing Flamethrower, Thunderbolt Rhyhorn/Rhydon Flamethrower, Thunderbolt, Ice Beam Chansey/Blissey Flamethrower, Thunderbolt, Ice Beam Kangaskhan Flamethrower, Thunderbolt, Ice Beam Horsea/Seadra/Kingdra Ice Beam Goldeen/Seaking Ice Beam Staryu/Starmie Thunderbolt, Ice Beam Mr. Mime Thunderbolt Tauros Flamethrower, Thunderbolt, Ice Beam Gyarados Flamethrower, Thunderbolt, Ice Beam Lapras Thunderbolt, Ice Beam Eevee/Vaporeon/Jolteon/Flareon Ice Beam (Vaporeon only), Thunderbolt (Jolteon only), Flamethrower (Flareon only) Porygon/Porygon 2 Thunderbolt, Ice Beam Omanyte/Omastar Ice Beam Kabuto/Kabutops Ice Beam Aerodactyl Flamethrower Snorlax Flamethrower, Thunderbolt, Ice Beam Articuno Ice Beam Zapdos Thunderbolt Moltres Flamethrower Dratini/Dragonair/Dragonite Flamethrower, Thunderbolt, Ice Beam Mewtwo Flamethrower, Thunderbolt, Ice Beam Mew Flamethrower, Thunderbolt, Ice Beam Cyndaquil/Quilava/Typhlosion Flamethrower Totodile/Croconaw/Feraligatr Ice Beam Chinchou/Lanturn Thunderbolt, Ice Beam Pichu/Pikachu/Raichu Thunderbolt Cleffa/Clefairy/Clefable Flamethrower, Thunderbolt (Clefairy only), Ice Beam (Clefairy only) Igglybuff/Jigglypuff Flamethrower, Thunderbolt (Jigglypuff only), Ice Beam (Jigglypuff only) Togepi/Togetic Flamethrower Mareep/Flaaffy/Ampharos Thunderbolt Marill/Azumarill Ice Beam Aipom Thunderbolt Wooper/Quagsire Ice Beam Misdreavus Thunderbolt Girafarig Thunderbolt Snubbull/Granbull Thunderbolt Qwilfish Ice Beam Sneasel Ice Beam Slugma/Magcargo Flamethrower Swinub/Piloswine Ice Beam Corsola Ice Beam Remoraid/Octillery Flamethrower, Ice Beam Delibird Ice Beam Mantine Ice Beam Houndour/Houndoom Flamethrower Smoochum/Jynx Ice Beam Elekid/Electabuzz Thunderbolt Magby/Magmar Flamethrower Miltank Thunderbolt, Ice Beam Raikou Thunderbolt Entei Flamethrower Suicune Ice Beam Larvitar/Pupitar/Tyranitar Flamethrower, Thunderbolt, Ice Beam Lugia Thunderbolt, Ice Beam Ho-oh Flamethrower, Thunderbolt Dratini with Extremespeed Pokemon Crystal owners exclusively have the opportunity to claim a unique Extremespeed Dratini from Clair's grandfather in the Dragon's Den Shrine after defeating his granddaughter and answering his ridiculously simple questions. Below is a list of all the questions he will ask, the correct answers are in green, while the incorrect answers are in red. 1. What are your Pokemon to you? Pal Incorrect Underling Friend 2. What helps you to win battles? Strategy Raising Incorrect Cheating 3. What kind of trainers do you wish to battle? Incorrect Weak Person Incorrect Tough Person Anybody 4. What is the most important thing for raising Pokemon? Love Incorrect Violence Knowledge 5. Strong Pokemon, Weak Pokemon. Which is More Important? Incorrect Tough Both Incorrect Weak Once you have successfully answered all the questions, you will be given a Dratini. If you answered them all correctly, it will have Extremespeed, but if you answer one or more wrong it will have Leer instead. Battle Tower Battle TowerThe Battle Tower is something exclusive to Pokemon Crystal and it might as well be worth buying it just for it. The Battle Tower is located west of Olivine City. Go into the house in front of it, and you'll find yourself standing in front of a tall structure filled with trainers. Before you enter, make sure that you have only three Pokemon. In the Japanese version of the game you would need a Mobile GB Adapter, but since those aren't available in North America, you don't need one. When you enter, go talk to the receptionist who will tell you that you have to have 3 Pokemon or you can't enter. You also have to choose which rules you are going to play by. What I mean by that is if you have a Level 56 Fearow, then you'll have to go to the Level 60 room. Now you are taken up the floors by an elevator to the floor with the level that fits you. The Level of the Pokemon varies between 10-100, but if you haven't beaten the Elite Four, only levels 10 - 40 are allowed. If you are thinking of using potions, then think again! You can only use attachments, which makes it kind of like Pokemon Stadium 2. The same attachments also cannot be attached to different Pokemon, and you must use different Pokemon. Just like in Stadium, you won't gain any experience from battling trainers. There are a grand total of 10 floors in the Battle Tower, and seven trainers on each floor, which makes a total of 70 trainers. Luckily you won't be battling all of them though, because that would take you forever! You only battle on the floor of the level that was selected. If you defeat all the trainers in a row in one challenge area, you'll get a prize. Battle TowerPrizes comes in groups of 5 and you can either get: 5 Proteins, 5 Carbos, 5 Calciums, 5 Irons, or 5 HP UPs. That may not sound like much, but do you know how much those things cost? Now that you have them use them to boost your Pokemon's stats and return and keep battling for more prizes! |
