Pokemon the First Movie

Pikachu's Vacation

Ash and the gang bring their Pokemon to an island for a short vacation. After releasing them, the Pokemon walk merrily to the entrance with Pikachu leading the way. Pikachu is in first, but looks behind itself and sees the other Pokemon charging into the entrance. Pikachu tries to avoid them, but falls down. Psyduck bounces off Pikachu's head, but there are other problems. Togepi is ready to cry and Bulbasaur, Squirtle, and Psyduck try to calm the young one down. Togepi cries loudly and Pikachu soothes it by making funny faces. Togepi is happy, but Squirtle comes into the way and makes a face of its own. Togepi continues to cry after that, and Pikachu tries the funny faces again, but it's no use. Squirtle looks down in disappointment and sees an apple hanging down from a tree. He calls over Pikachu and Bulbasaur. Bulbasaur uses two leaves to cut the apple down, but when the apple falls, it lands near Psyduck. Psyduck picks it up and eats it, not knowing it was meant for Togepi. When Psyduck walks away, Togepi screams again. Bulbasaur calms Togepi down by rocking it to sleep with its vines.

Finally, Togepi is asleep, but a Pokemon gang of some head their way. The group consists of Snubbull, Marill, Cubone, and Raichu. The gang's talking might wake up Togepi, and sure enough, it does. Bulbasaur and Squirtle argue with the gang, but Pikachu tells them to set a good example for Togepi. Pikachu looks back at Togepi, and it's gone. Togepi walks over to a log, which Pikachu sees as dangerous. Togepi gets on the log and Pikachu follows the egg, but the log starts rolling downhill. Pikachu tries to maintain balance, while Togepi does so easily. Pikachu ends up falling off the log and Togepi leaps off before it splashes into the water.

Meanwhile, Squirtle and Snubbull challenging by holding their breath. Snubbull wins this round, but Bulbasaur rolls his eyes around, somewhat challenging Snubbull. Snubbull tries, but loses. Bulbasaur and Squirtle laugh at the bulldog and Marill steps in. Squirtle and Marill have a stare down and Pikachu just arrives to see it happening.

Marill and Squirtle challenge each other to a swimming race. When the Electrode explodes, both contestants are off. It's an even race until Marill collides into a Starmie, who hits it away with a Water Gun attack. Squirtle takes the advantage, but gets too cocky and starts getting pulled back by a Goldeen. Squirtle gets off the Goldeen and dashes forward, but finds out that Marill has already won the race.

The quarrel is not yet over and the groups are still arguing. Raichu steps in this time and shoots out thunder bolts, almost hitting Togepi. Pikachu stands in the way and gets shocked. Enraged by this, Pikachu challenges Raichu to a race. The two Pokemon hit everything in their path, until they accidentally step on the sleeping Charizard's tail. Charizard soon wakes up after feeling that and follows Pikachu and Raichu. Charizard knocks them back with the wind from his wings, sending the two Pokemon falling off the hill. Luckily, the two land on a sleeping Snorlax. The Snorlax rolls over, but the two are ok.

Charizard comes down to mock the two, but ends up not watching where it's going. Charizard collides into many objects and soon gets its head stuck in a pipe. This noise irritates the Team Rocket Pokemon, especially Meowth. Meowth yells at Charizard, but Charizard's flame ends up burning Meowth. All the Pokemon try to pull out Charizard, but they are unsuccessful. The Pokemon gang stands there and laughs at their attempts. Pikachu asks them to help, but only Cubone refuses to do so. The Pokemon try and try, but don't get Charizard unstuck. Cubone soon joins in after watching for long enough. Soon, Charizard is unstuck. Meowth screams at Charizard once again, but he doesn't see him up in the air. Charizard flies up and ends up crashing down on Meowth, Arbok, and Weezing.

In the end, the Pokemon work together and play games with each other. The Pokedex reveals that Pokemon prefer helping and working with each other, other than fighting one another. The day ends and Ash, Brock, and Misty recall their Pokemon. Pikachu shakes hands with Snubbull and goes back to Ash.

Mewtwo Strikes Back

A new Pokemon awakes, he is known as the strongest Pokemon in the world. He is Mewtwo. Mewtwo opens his eyes to hear his creators talk. One of the professors, his creators, talks to Mewtwo saying that they created him from Mew, the rarest Pokemon alive. Mewtwo believes that he is nothing but a clone, but the professor talking to him says that he is more powerful than Mew. The professors congratulate each other for successfully creating Mewtwo. Mewtwo questions himself for the reason of living. Mewtwo thinks that he's the humans' slave, which he doesn't like. Mewtwo ends up breaking out of his tube and destroying the area. The professor says that they successfully created the world's most powerful Pokemon, then Mewtwo completely engulfs the laboratory. Giovanni, Team Rocket's leader, arrives and sees Mewtwo. He asks Mewtwo to become his partner. Mewtwo says he doesn't work with such humans, but Giovanni says that he'll treat him equally. Mewtwo agrees to this and becomes Giovanni's 'partner'.

After placing some armor on Mewtwo, Giovanni says that it'll increase Mewtwo's power. Mewtwo challenges such Pokemonas Onix, a herd of Tauros, Alakazam, Magnemite, and Gary Oak's Arcanine and Nidoking. While resting, Mewtwo believes that he has reached his maximum power, but he still wonders what his purpose and destiny is for living. Giovanni somehow overhears this and says that Mewtwo is there to serve him. Mewtwo is angered by Giovanni's comment and says that they were partners. Giovanni says that he could never become partners with a Pokemon, and soon Mewtwo destroys the area once again. Mewtwo escapes Giovanni's headquarters by flying out, destroying his armor as well. Mewtwo goes back to the destroyed laboratory where he was created. There, Mewtwo says that he will find his purpose of living.

Ash, Brock, and Misty are somewhere, where Ash is starving to death. Misty yells at Ash since he's done nothing all day, and Brock continues cooking lunch. A pirate kid soon walks up to them and wishes to know where Ash from Pallet Town is. Ash says that he's him and the pirate kid challenges him to a Pokemon battle. Ash willingly accepts the challenge and their battle begins with Ash's Bulbasaur versus the pirate's Donphan. Donphan rolls around, hitting Bulbasaur a few times, but Bulbasaur leaps into the air and gathers the sunlight. Donphan charges at Bulbasaur in a rolling state, but Bulbasaur blasts Donphan away with Solar Beam. Angered by this, the pirate kid sends out his next Pokemon, Machamp. Machamp is up against Ash's Squirtle. The two Pokemon charge at each other, and Squirtle gets hit first with a Low Kick. After avoiding another of Machamp's hits, Squirtle hits Machamp with a Bubble attack, knocking it out. The pirate kid is really angry and he sends out three Pokemon, Golem, Venomoth, and Pinsir. Pikachu leaps off Ash's shoulder and gives them all an electric shock. Pikachu successfully knocks out all the Pokemon and the pirate kid is really shocked.

Meanwhile, Team Rocket watches from a cliff and says that Pikachu is getting stronger, so it's better that they get it soon. High above them is a Fearow, who has some sort of camera attached to its neck. The camera was taping Ash's battle for a certain something to see. The certain something orders a woman to send out an invitation to Ash. The woman does so by giving the message to a Dragonite, the messenger. Ash and the others start to eat, and soon Team Rocket is hungry as well. Jesse offers to cook, but Meowth says that he lost eight of his nine lives when she did. The Dragonite zooms across the sea, and soon reaches the area where Ash and the others are. The Dragonite knocks over Team Rocket, and does the same to Ash's group. The Dragonite lands and everyone is confused. The Dragonite hands Ash a card and a woman appears from it as an image. The woman invites Ash to New Island, where the supposed greatest Pokemon Trainer is. Brock drools over the woman and the woman's image tells them that only the greatest Trainers make it to new island. An invitation falls out and Pikachu grabs it. The invitation asks if Ash wants to head to New Island or not. Ash selects 'Yes' and the Dragonite flies away, but not before Team Rocket holds it back with a frying pan. They demand to know what the Dragonite was doing, and the invitation falls out of its purse.

Back at the unknown area, the certain something happens to be Mewtwo. He uses his hand to manipulate the weather, causing a large storm. In another area, Mew, the rarest Pokemon, awakens from its slumber under the ocean. Mew floats upwards in a bubble and soon flies off into an unknown direction. Ash and the others hurry to the nearest shelter, where they find many Trainers there as well. All the Trainers are people that wish to head off to New Island. Officer Jenny explains that due to the storm, it is unsafe to travel to New Island. Many Trainers are disappointed, and Officer Jenny also mentions that the nurse that runs the Pokemon Center nearby has been missing for a month. A woman explains to the Trainers that only a few may have the ability to travel to New Island. Trainers rush outside and jump on their Pokemon that can either Surf or Fly. Officer Jenny tries to stop them, but the woman tells her to let them go, because those who make it to New Island are the ones that have the courage, which separates them from all other Trainers. Ash really wants to go, but knows that none of his Pokemon can handle the storm. A boat soon comes up and paddling it are two vikings that look awfully familiar. Ash and the gang catch a ride with them, since they're heading to New Island. As the vikings paddle, a large wave approaches them. The wave hits the boat, and the vikings identities are revealed, it's Team Rocket. They start to say their motto, but a wave totally knocks over the boat this time. Misty soon releases her Staryu and grabs hold of it. Brock is stranded in the ocean and screams for Ash and Misty. Brock sees Misty on Staryu and grabs hold of it. Ash comes out from under the water with his Squirtle. Squirtle paddles up near Staryu and Ash grabs hold of Misty's hand. The waves are tremendous, but the group has to stay together. After a while, they finally make it to shore, and New Island. Ash looks up and sees the familiar woman. Brock remembers the woman's face from somewhere, then remembers that it's the missing nurse. The woman denies that she is the nurse and tells them to follow her. As for Team Rocket, they are safely at New Island too, after floating on Weezing.

The woman brings Ash and the group up to a large room. After opening the large door, Ash finds that there's only three Trainers there. The Trainers names are Sorao, Umio, and Sweet. (Those are their Japanese names, the American names are never mentioned.) The woman asks Ash, Brock, and Misty to release their Pokemon first. As for Team Rocket, they stand outside of the building that the others are in. Jesse looks around and finds a water drain that they can sneak into. Jesse soon turns around, knowing that the presence of something was near, but sees nothing.

After the three Trainers introduce themselves and their Pokemon, the woman says that the greatest Pokemon Trainer is about to arrive. Mewtwo comes down from above and the woman also mentions that he is the most powerful Pokemon in the world. Sorao is outraged that a Pokemon invited them there, and so are the others. The woman soon collapses, but Brock catches her before she falls. Brock was correct, and the woman appeared to be the missing nurse. Pikachu argues with Mewtwo a bit, and Mewtwo doesn't understand why Pikachu believes that Ash is his friend. Mewtwo thinks that Ash is only using Pikachu as a weapon to fight, and then forces Pikachu back with psychic force. Ash catches Pikachu as it's sent back and soon, Umio is angered and sends out his Gyarados, but it is easily defeated at the hands of Mewtwo. Mewtwo says that he is the ultimate Pokemon, and can't be defeated by such humans. This time, Sorao argues with Mewtwo and sends his Rhyhorn, but it is defeated easily as well. Mewtwo then shows the Trainers a large Pokemon League like field.

Team Rocket wanders around in the drain and soon finds the entrance to a laboratory. The first thing the gang sees are three Pokemon, Venusaur, Blastoise, and Charizard. They don't look like their suppose to, and the gang is confused. Suddenly, Meowth is captured on a conveyor belt and tries to escape. James pulls him, but mechanical hands grab Meowth's hair on his tail. The group sees on a screen the hair transforming into a Meowth. Just then, another Meowth comes out of the machine, and into a tube. Meowth is shocked by this, knowing that it's just a copy. Jesse soon sits down on a computer keypad and accidentally presses a button. The screen shows pictures and explains that the professors that created Mewtwo got some of Mewtwo's power from Mew. The computer explains that Giovanni funded the project to do so and they ended up doing their task.

Mewtwo says that he started out with Bulbasaur, Squirtle, and Charmander like all Trainers, but has evolved them into their final stage. Mewtwo calls the copies of Venusaur, Blastoise, and Charizard, who come out of their tubes. Team Rocket is a bit scared of them and backs off. The copies come out from underground and Mewtwo says that the copies are far more superior than the real Pokemon, since Mewtwo claims he is just like the copies. Sorao, Sweet, and Ash ready their original Pokemon against Mewtwo's copies.

First up is Venusaur versus Venusaur. Sorao's Venusaur shoots out Razor Leaf, but the copy Venusaur destroys the leaves with Vine Whip and throws the original Venusaur across the field. Sorao rushes to his Pokemon and next up is Blastoise versus Blastoise. Sweet's Blastoise tries a Hydro Pump, but the copy Blastoise dashes right through it while spinning in its shell. The copy Blastoise nails the original Blastoise and it is knocked out. Lastly, it is Charizard versus Charizard. The two Charizards battle in the sky, but in the end, the copy Charizard wins. Mewtwo laughs at the pathetic attempt and soon releases black colored Poke Balls, which capture the Pokemon all around. Mewtwo says that he will shelter the Pokemon, trying to save them from the control of humans. Soon, all the Pokemon are catched, Pikachu being the last one. The Poke Balls go down a pipe and Ash follows Pikachu, saying he won't lose his friend.

Team Rocket watches as all the Poke Balls come in on the conveyor belt, and they spot Ash. Ash says he has no time for Team Rocket's motto and rushes after Pikachu's Poke Ball. The mechanical hands grab hold of it, but Ash pulls the ball away from their clutches. An overload of copied Pokemon enter the tube, and soon they all exit from it. All the original Pokemon are released, and Ash has a score to settle with Mewtwo.

After more arguing about copies, the copies Mewtwo has comes out and stands by him. However, Ash exits too with the original Pokemon following him. Ash says that he can't do such things to Pokemon and then charges at Mewtwo. Ash tries throwing a punch, but Mewtwo blocks it with a psychic barrier, sending Ash flying up and away. Ash looks like he's about to collide into a wall, but a mysterious bubble appears, stopping his collision. The mysterious bubble came from Mew. Mewtwo stares at Mew and notices that it's him. Mewtwo throws an energy ball at Mew, but Mew evades. Mewtwo tries this strategy a few more times, but Mew keeps dodging. Mewtwo says that he will proves that copies are superior and sends forth the copies. The original Pokemon and the copies soon battle. It's a big mess as it happens. Ash looks down from where he is and notices that what Mewtwo is doing is horrible. As Mew and Mewtwo continue their battle, Pikachu's copy starts slapping Ash's Pikachu around, but Ash's Pikachu refuses to hit back. Soon, all the Pokemon collapse and the nurse says that Pokemon aren't meant to fight this way.

Meowth's clone shows its claws and Meowth does so as well. But, Meowth doesn't want to fight his clone, knowing it's pointless. Meowth looks up into the moon with his clone and says that if they look at the same in each other, and exclude what's different, maybe people and Pokemon can just get along. While Pikachu gets slapped around, the clone soon falls down in exhaustion. Mew and Mewtwo land on the field and charge up their energy. Ash jumps in the way right before the two beams collide with each other. Mewtwo calls Ash a fool, and Pikachu runs to Ash, who turns into stone. Pikachu tries shocking Ash to see if he'll respond like usual, but nothing happens. After many failed attempts, Pikachu sheds a tear. The other Pokemon are sad as well and they shed tears as well. The tears all go towards Ash's body, and Pikachu then sheds one last tear. Ash is back to his normal self and then hugs Pikachu. Mewtwo talks with Mew saying, maybe, people and Pokemon can live together. Now, Mewtwo can believe in life, knowing what caring for others is now. Mewtwo recalls all of the clones and floats away with them and Mew. Ash asks Mewtwo where he's headed off to now, but Mewtwo says that maybe, everyone should forget about the incident.

A large white portal opens, sucking in everyone on the field. When Ash is back to reality, he wonders why they are in a shelter. Everyone's memory has been erased about New Island and Mewtwo, and the nurse is back as well. Ash walks out of the shelter with Brock and Misty. He looks up into the sky and sees Mew floating around. Ash is the only one who sees Mew, then he mentions that he saw a large bird after leaving his hometown, something possibly no one has ever seen. Finally, Team Rocket is stranded somewhere with their memories erased, and no one nearby.

Pikachu's Summer Vacation

In one summer day, Pikachu and the other Pokemon owned by Ash and his friends come to Pokemon Land, a park for only Pokemon, to spend their holiday. They are all joyful. However, after a while of their coming through the gate, Togepi starts to cry. He is now a baby, and hungry. Startled, yet wanting him to stop crying Pikachu pulls his cheeks to make a funny face. Squirtle also tries, though in vain. He makes up for this though by finding a lovely red apple on a branch of a tree. He calls Pikachu and Bulbasaur over and Togepi becomes delighted at the sight of it. Bulbasaur uses a little Razor Leaf to cut it off. The fruit drops, and rolls to stop right before Psyduck. He takes it, and then, to the Pokemon's surprise, eats it. Togepi then cries even more.
Togepi finally quiets, but Raichu, Cubone, Marill and Snubbull pass near them, chatting loudly. Squirtle asks the group to be quiet, making them angry. As Bulbasaur joins, the two groups glare at each other, ready to fight. Pikachu tries hard to soothe them Togepi totters to a river valley and onto a log over it. Pikachu realizes about Togepi's wandering and chases after him. The log moves suddenly. Pikachu is startled, while Togepi is pleased. It rolls down the valley in a high speed, throwing Pikachu into the river. He looks around quickly for Togepi, finding him at a side of the valley. He sighs, relieved.

As he is back, carrying Togepi on his back, he gives another sigh to have seen the two groups still quarrel. They decide to settle it by Squirtle and Marill having a swimming race. The race begins with a generous Electrode who uses an Explosion. Obstructed by some of other Pokemon, both swim with great guts, but Marill wins much to Squirtle's disappointment. But their fight doesn't finish. Throwing insults, Raichu's electric sparks hit the ground near the resting Togepi. Pikachu dashes near him, shielding him. A spark hits Pikachu. He stiffens his body, shocked. Raichu and other Pokemon of his group laugh. Pikachu looks back, his eyes lifted, and burning with rage. He goes close to Raichu, glaring at him. Raichu stares back. A tense hash comes between them for all of a minute... They start to move, cheek to cheek. Suddenly, the two electric mice dash off. They run down paths, through a river, crashing against other Pokemon on their way. Even Meowth, who was dozing with Arbok and Weezing. Continuing, they step on Charizard's tail in the process.

Charizard flares up, and dashes after them, but the two don't care. Charizard fails to catch up at first but uses his wings as a giant fan to blow them off a cliff where they find themselves under a Snorlax. As they free themselves, Charizard flies down for more trying to impress the two, but not looking where he was flying gets his head pushed into a small hole. Puzzlement is in minds of the Pokemon, except for Raichu's group, including Charizard. The hole is too small for his head, and he cannot pull it out no matter how many times he tries to pull back. The good guys tie his leg tight with the end of a long and thick rope grips it and pulls it with all their might. They try over and over, but Charizard's head is still in the hole. Tears fill his eyes, as he is disappointed. Raichu and his group members watch them, keeping a short distance. Pikachu goes near them, and asks, "pika, pika pika chu. Pikachu. (Help us. Please)" They agree with him, and goes to take the rope, except Cubone. They try harder, and Charizard's head is almost out, yet still in. Tears rolls down his cheeks.

Finally Cubone's hands grip at the point an inch before Pikachu's on the rope. Pikachu is delighted. They try once more, much harder. Finally, Charizard are pulled back, his head out the hole. Two groups are now friends. They repair places, which have been destroyed by their fight, and play together the rest of the day. In the evening, Ash and his friends come to take Pikachu and the other Pokemon. As he calls Pikachu, a big smile is on Pikachu's face. "Pikapi! (Satoshi or Ash in this case)" Pikachu runs straight into his chest.

Mewtwo Strikes Back

Mewtwo, who is newborn, opens his eyes in a laboratory, finding a dozen people in white clothes. They are scientists, who have given a birth to him, by genetically processing cells of Mew, the rarest Pokemon on the earth, to create the strongest Pokemon, able to speak a human language. Mewtwo's birth is not natural, but artificial. He recognizes that, and is confused, and destroys the laboratory. Giovanni, the boss of the Team Rocket, takes him and makes him help with them capturing Pokemon. The mystery of his life is always in his mind, and he destroys the base of Team Rocket, too, to be alone.
Overlooking the sea in grassland on a cliff, Ash awaits Brock's stew ready on a table. Pikachu finds Togepi totter to the edge of the cliff, and panicked, rushes to help him. Togepi stops an inch from the edge, while Pikachu drops from it. The cliff is not deep at the side, to Pikachu's relief. Togepi chuckles to see him crawl up. A man challenges Ash. He cheers up, and accepts. After using Squirtle's Bubblebeam on the guy's Machamp, Bulbasaur's Solar Beam on his Donfan and Pikachu's Thunderbolt on his last three, Ash wins. Then suddenly he receives an invitation card, the message told by a beautiful woman in holography. The sender is unknown, but is just introduced by her the as strongest Pokemon trainer, and is to join a Pokemon league in the Pokemon castle in New Island. Ash decides to accept the invitation.

A storm outrages waves of the sea, so that it is impossible to launch a ship, as his party arrives at a port. They learn that there are many other trainers who were invited by the stranger, and that a female doctor of a Pokemon center is missing. Trainers try the raging sea, with the help of their Pokemon that can move in the water or fly. Unfortunately no one of Ash's party owns any that would be strong enough, and they don't know what to do. But a boat appears, and the two sailors offer a ride. Relieved Ash and the crew accept it. (He doesn't note Meowth at the head of the boat.) Ash is in high sprits in the boat, while Pikachu is scared of pitching. As a huge wave assaults it, the helmets which the sailors wore low over their eyes were swept away, revealing their faces. It's Jessie and James of Team Rocket! Ash is astonished. At that time another wave comes, and they are all thrown out of the boat into water. Misty quickly sends out Starmie, while Ash sends out Squirtle, and they cling on to either of them, letting the current take them where it goes.
Luckily, they make it to New Island. A moment later, Team Rocket does too. There are only three trainers that are there not inclusive - Sweet, Sorao, and Umio. The woman who appeared in the hologram greets them and tells them to call out all of their Pokemon. They are astonished when the host appears; who is Mewtwo, the Pokemon that is unknown to them yet. Noting himself as a trainer, two of the trainers become outraged, because he is only a Pokemon. The woman's condition suddenly changes, and she collapses. Brock rushes to her and holds her in his arms, finding himself looking at the female doctor who they learned was missing. Trainers send some of their Pokemon to battle Mewtwo, but he beats them easily. Then he takes the trainers and Pokemon to a league field that apparently he constructed.

Team Rocket, who were not invited, make their own way into the castle. They are followed by Mew, of which they are unaware and find themselves in a lab. They find huge tubes there. Some of them contain a Pokemon sleeping. As they wonder around, Meowth is captured by a pair of mechanical arms and put on a conveyer belt. He struggles to escape with the help of Jessie and James while the arms pull three hairs out of his tail. Meowth manages to escape, and a computer turns on describing information about Meowth's genes. Suddenly, a clone of Meowth appears in one of the empty tubes. Mewtwo, highly intelligent, studies there and successfully creates clones of Pokemon, making them stronger than the original. And they are not just copies they have lives. Venusaur, Charizard, and Blastoise come out of tubes, then go to the league field, called by Mewtwo by telepathy. Mewtwo being Psychic and all knows that Sorao owns a Venusaur, Sweet raises a Blastoise, and Ash has a Charizard. He is there to prove that his copies are superior to the originals. It is his revenge for human beings that have given a birth to him, making use of him. The clones set to battle, showing that they are incredibly strong. They conquer the originals, disappointing the invited trainers.
Mewtwo's revenge doesn't finish there however. Psychic balls of energy fly across the field, each aiming at the original Pokemon. Mewtwo's balls capture them one after another, now leaving Pikachu. A dozen balls are sent to him. He runs, shooting electricity, frightened. Ash desperately tries to save him. But a ball captures Pikachu. Ash runs after it runs after it, but it flies away. Team Rocket are still in the lab and the balls coming zooming in. The hands take each and the computer analyses the gene. Each time, a perfect copy is created. Pikachu's ball arrives, and Ash follows.

As the mechanics grab Pikachu, so does Ash. Pulling with all his might, he breaks the machine breaks into sparks and it spits Pokemon out. Pikachu is safe, and Ash hugs him tight in his arms. Clones are summoned by Mewtwo and go to the league field. Satoshi and Pikachu follow them with originals. Then they see a small, white monster there. It was Mew. Mewtwo's mother? the original? Mewtwo shakes his whole body with mixed feelings, dread and delight that he would fight his original to prove HE is superior. As they fight, other Pokemon also battle with their copies hand-to-hand. Pikachu's copy appears, too. He glares at the original Pikachu, and goes after him. Pikachu doesn't resist, as he doesn't want to battle a himself in a context. The copy shouts at him, "pika, Pikachu! (Fight me!)" Pikachu shakes his head, refusing to counter. Tears well up to the copy's eyes, but he cannot stop himself while Mew fights Mewtwo. Crying, the copy continues to beat Pikachu. Finally the copy is exhausted and collapses. Pikachu moves towards him and holds him tenderly.
Ash, who is now disgusted by this, cannot stand to see them battle any longer. He dashes toward the spot Mew and Mewtwo fight, crying, "Don't! Don't fight any longer!" Just then, Mew and Mewtwo shoot out powerful psychic balls of energy. Hitting him he screams, and collapses to the ground. All the Pokemon, including Mew and Mewtwo, freeze and just watch him. "Pikapi!" Pikachu goes up to him, looking into his face. His body starts to stiffen right before Pikachu's eyes. Pikachu wonders at first what has actually happened, looking at his best friend lying on the floor not moving. Pikachu shocks him, hoping it may revive him. But Ash remains still. Pikachu tries once more, then over and over. When he becomes too tired to shoot a beam anymore, Ash still lies still on the ground. Tears well up to Pikachu's eyes roll down his cheeks, and drop to the ground, and are quickly filtered into the soil. Other originals and clones begin to weep. Their tears wet the ground, and are conveyed to Satoshi through the soil. His body softens slowly, and he finally recovers, moving ever so slightly. Pikachu hugs him, and Ash hugs back. Mewtwo calls the clones by telepathy, and they float up. He can now believe in his life, which is valuable, and is leaving to look for the place where they can all live. Ash, Pikachu, and the rest watch them flying away, now feeling for them. When Ash fully recovers, he walks to the port with his friends. The other trainers are there too. No one remembers what happened in the island. The storm is over a moment later, and the sea recovers the peace, its surface brightening in the sunlight.
